Here at Speedy Reg we’re always on the lookout for new ventures. Of course, as we sell private registration plates, we’re all pretty keen on cars and especially motor sports, so when we got the opportunity to sponsor a rally car, well we obviously jumped at the chance!
We are very proud to sponsor Simon Webster who competed in the Pirelli International Rally earlier this year. The rally was held on Saturday 28th April. This year all the action took place on one day and was based in Carlisle. It was an amazing day. with viewing any of the eight stages being free of charge, you didn’t need a ticket, so we all just checked out the website and found a great spot to watch from. We tried our best to see our Speedy Reg logo as Simon whizzed past but he’s a bit too fast for us! The ceremonial finish at Brampton on Saturday night was also well worth attending. There were plenty of places for a drink and a bite to eat, it was a great evening.
Simon and his co-driver Jez Rogers took part in the Historic Section of the rally, in a 1998 Ford Escort RS 1800. This 85-mile rally is a round of the FIA Celtic Trophy Rally, the Prestone MSA British Rally Championship, the Mintex MSA British Rally Historic Championship, and the Motoscope Northern Historic Rally Championship.
